The advancement of digital technology has created significant challenges for students’ physical activity and social interaction. As students spend more time engaged with digital devices, opportunities for developing essential life values such as cooperation, discipline, and respect are reduced. Physical education provides a platform not only for improving physical health but also for strengthening social skills and character formation through structured play, sports, and physical activities. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature analysis to examine the contribution of physical education to character education in the digital era. Findings reveal that physical education promotes teamwork, responsibility, and resilience while balancing the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Additionally, physical education serves as a counterbalance to the isolating effects of digitalization, encouraging face-to-face interaction and fostering students’ social competencies. Therefore, integrating character education within physical education is essential to address the challenges of modern digital lifestyles and to prepare students for holistic personal development.
