Abstract

This study aims to identify the stages of growth and development of movement skills in children aged 7 to 10 years and analyze the factors that influence this. The method used was a qualitative case study approach through observation and in-depth interviews with five children and their parents around the research site. The findings of this study show that children's motor development stages are unique to each individual, although they follow some general patterns. For example, walking ability is usually achieved at 12 to 24 months of age, while running and jumping abilities emerge between 2 to 3 years of age. Preferred activities, such as cycling, playing sports and social interaction, play an important role in the development of a child's motor skills. Some of the factors that influence the development of movement skills include birth history, health conditions, stimulation from the environment, and emotional support from parents. In addition, children's psychological development showed positive progress with age, reflected in increased self-confidence, sociability and empathy. These findings emphasize the importance of comprehensive support from the environment around children to support their growth, especially in motor and psychological aspects.
