Pengaruh Kepercayaan Diri Pengkhotbah terhadap Efektivitas Khotbah sebagai Sarana Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang Inspiratif

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of preachers' confidence on the effectiveness of sermons in the context of Christian Religious Education. In the life of the church, preaching is not only the imparting of spiritual information, but also as an educational means that shape the faith, character, and spiritual response of the congregation. The confidence of the preacher is an important factor in determining the extent to which the message of the word can be received, understood, and inspired by the congregation. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with the method of literature study, limited interviews, and observation of the congregation's response to the sermon delivered by preachers with varying levels of confidence. The results of the study showed that preachers who performed with high confidence tended to be better able to build emotional connections, convey messages clearly, and awaken the spiritual spirit of the congregation. On the contrary, a lack of confidence often hinders the transformative power of the sermon, causes boredom, and decreases the attention of the audience. These findings confirm that self-confidence is not only a personal psychological aspect, but also plays a strategic role in the success of faith education in preaching. Therefore, preacher training needs to include confidence development as an integral part of an inspiring and impactful Christian Religious Education curriculum.
