Abstract

This study examines the power of praise in the face of crisis based on a theological examination of 2 Chronicles 20, focusing on the response of King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah who chose to praise God in the midst of a great threat from the enemy nations. Through the method of literature study and the narrative theological approach, this study highlights how praise is not just a liturgical expression, but also a divine strategy loaded with the meaning of faith, dependence, and recognition of God's sovereignty. The events in 2 Chronicles 20 show that the act of exalting praise precedes victory, showing that a living relationship with God is able to overcome fear and create calm in chaos. In the context of Christian Religious Education, these findings are relevant as the basis for the formation of students' faith, where praise can be understood as a form of spiritual pedagogy that builds perseverance, trust in God, and preparedness to face life's challenges. Education that instills the values of faith through biblical reflection and the practice of praise is able to encourage students to experience personal encounters with God, deepen spirituality, and make faith a source of strength in times of crisis.
